Third Thursday – Prairie Wildfire

Third Thursday – Prairie Wildfire

Prairie Wildfire will be playing a mix of folk, bluegrass, classic country, and a little bit of wildfire Wyoming-style western music at Third Thursday on Aug. 17th from 6:30 to 9:00 at Dumont Plaza in downtown Meridian. The trio offers tight harmony and sophisticated instrumentation featuring Sage on the mandolin, Tessa on clawhammer banjo, and Morgan on the upright bass.

Tessa Taylor’s gritty voice is filled with energy and emotion and the classic traditions of old-time and cowboy music. Morgan Blaney offers a crystal clear tone that blends influences from country, bluegrass, and jazz. Sage Palser belts out rich ballads and classic country sounds — and a yodel or two. The band alternates lead singers and rips through melodies, rhythms, and breaks with practiced ease, producing a sound that is unique yet reminiscent of better times… And better tunes.

Local favorites Bill Carpenter and Terry Cherry will also be performing on stage and the leading street rod builder in the USA, Mike Goldman will have a display. It’s another family friendly and pet friendly Third Thursday brought to you by the Meridian Council for the Arts and sponsored by Mississippi Arts Council, City of Meridian, Visit Meridian, The Paul and Sherry Broadhead Foundation, Magnolia Beverage and Mitchell Distributing.
