MSU Riley Center – Jim Messina
An undisputed expert in the art of making hit music, Jim Messina has built a five-decade career that includes membership in three supergroups, a vibrant solo career, and scores of credits as a sought-after recording engineer and producer. Stints with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band Buffalo Springfield (“For What It’s Worth”) and the influential country-rock group Poco (“Crazy Love”) led to a hugely successful 1970s partnership with Kenny Loggins. Such hits as “Your Mama Don’t Dance” helped Loggins and Messina sell more than 16 million albums. On stage, Messina plays hits from all three of his famous former bands, plus selections from his eclectic solo career.
